In the 1950’s and 1960’s, millions of Americans watched Ralph Edwards as host of “This Is Your Life”. The guests were typically show business celebrities. Hanna Kohner broke the mold. Hers was one of the first Holocaust stories told on national television in 1953.
In this program, Hanna is reunited with people from her past, some of whom, like her, survived the concentration camps. As the story unfolds, we are introduced to Walter Kohner, Julie’s father, who immigrated to the United States and returned to Europe as an American Soldier during World War II. Most important is how Hanna Kohner miraculously survived the war.
Julie Kohner is fortunate to have a video of the actual show, and presents it exclusively to her audiences, and is available for speaking engagements and lectures around the country and internationally. Julie has set up a non-profit organization, Voices of the Generations, which will help support her speaking engagements and make sure that the history of the Holocaust will not be lost to future generations.
If you would like to donate to this important cause, Voices of the Generation is offering a DVD package of Ralph Edwards This Is Your Life! This rare three-DVD collection of 18 episodes includes the episode featuring Hanna Kohner. Hana was the first Holocaust survivor to be interviewed on national television following the Holocaust. This interview provides a unique opportunity to view a brief glimpse of her life and some fascinating stories she shares with the audience.
Contact Julie Kohner for more information and how to donate and help educate future generations so we can all do our best to make sure the holocaust will not happen again.
